Say Hello to Amir, Our New Web Wizard at Afundi

Amir Ghaznavi

Say hello to our newest Web Developer - part architect, part problem‑solver, and full‑time translator of wild ideas into working digital experiences. Since joining Afundi, he’s been turning Chloe’s creative visions into pixel‑perfect reality, building the structures behind the magic, and adding his own spark of humour and curiosity to the team. We sat down with him for a quick Q&A to uncover what drives him, what inspires him, and how he turns lines of code into moments of delight.

What does your role at Afundi involve?

Officially? I build and maintain the architecture of our clients' websites. Unofficially? I am a professional translator. I take the beautiful, artistic dreams of our designer - Chloe and translate them into a language that computers (and stubborn web browsers) can actually understand. I basically type colourful text into a black screen until magic happens.

What excites you most about joining Afundi?

It’s the refusal to be mundane. Most of the web is just digital paper, but Afundi seems to specialise in digital wizardry. I joined because I wanted to stop being a construction worker and start being a magician. It’s exciting to look at a project brief and realise, 'Okay, this isn't just a website, this is an experience.' Plus, it’s nice to work somewhere where 'too crazy' isn't in the vocabulary.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career in our industry?

My advice? Embrace the struggle. When you get stuck, don't walk away. Treat that bug like a personal nemesis. There is a massive difference between 'it functions' and 'it’s exactly what I imagined,' and you need to live in that gap until you're satisfied.

However, never forget that being a 'Pro' just means you sacrificed a lot of time learning syntax that you could have spent having a social life! At the end of the day, we are just people pressing buttons. Being a genius coder is cool, but being a genuinely good person who understands human behavior is infinitely more valuable. Code is for computers; kindness is for everything else.

What’s your secret to building websites that stand out?

Intense staring contests. I literally stare at the monitor until the pixels get uncomfortable and align themselves perfectly out of pure awkwardness. That, and I treat every scroll, hover, and click like a micro-party. If the user doesn't smile or raise an eyebrow when they interact with the page, I haven't used enough 'digital glitter'.

Do you have a quote or mantra that inspires you?

'If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.' And by giants, I specifically mean the people on developer forums who solved my exact error message 8 years ago. I salute you, random internet strangers.

Is there a brand you admire, and why?

It has to be Apple. They are the patron saints of 'obsessing over things nobody else notices.' They design the inside of their devices to look beautiful even though 99% of users will never see it. That is a level of detailed madness I deeply respect. I try to bring that same energy to my work - I want my code to feel as polished as an iPhone unboxing experience.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

That I’ve basically had a professional identity crisis for the last 12 years! I’ve been a Front-end Dev, Full-stack Dev, SEO Specialist, Social media Specialist, Head of Marketing, Designer, and even a CEO for a year. I collected job titles like Pokémon because I genuinely wanted to understand the struggle from every single perspective.

The surprise twist? After wearing all those hats, I realised they all fit the same. Whether you are the CEO or the new hire, it really just boils down to 'Input' and 'Output.' That’s it. No one is more important than anyone else just because of a fancy title or seniority. We are all just humans part of the same circuit.
