How we’re using AI to build smarter software

At Afundi, we’ve always believed in the power of great tech paired with even better ideas.

That’s why we’re proud to say our software development team is embracing AI in a big way, building powerful, intelligent business software tools that transform the way our clients work.

From recruitment and compliance to real estate data, we’ve used OpenAI’s Assistants API and other AI tools to create custom-built software solutions that solve real-world problems.

Here's a look at just a few of the projects we’ve been working on behind the scenes.

Van Kaizen: AI-Powered Recruitment Software

Recruitment can be time-consuming, but not with the right tools.

We developed a bespoke Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with integrated AI features designed to save time and increase accuracy.

By using OpenAI’s Assistants API, we enabled the platform to:

  • Auto-generate consistent, professional job specs from scratch.
  • Extract detailed, structured data from candidate CVs.
  • Match candidates to roles based on skill alignment and suitability.

The result? An intelligent recruitment system that lets their team focus on people and not paperwork.

What they had to say:

“Afundi brought deep technical expertise and a real understanding of our hiring challenges. The custom ATS they developed is sleek, reliable, and intelligently built. Their integration of AI has saved huge amounts of time on laborious writing, data entry, and searching tasks, meaning our consultants can spend more time working directly with candidates and clients. It’s added real, measurable value to our recruitment process.”

ETHOS: AI Compliance Assistant

We collaborated with Ethos to build something totally unique: Ask Freddie, an AI-powered Compliance Assistant designed to help teams navigate NHS clinical safety regulations (DCB 0129 & 0160) quickly and confidently.

By customising the knowledge base and behaviour of OpenAI’s Assistants API to reflect internal policies and real-world use cases, we gave ETHOS an instant, scalable expert at their fingertips.

What they had to say:

“Afundi helped us take our vision and make it a reality. Ask Freddie has transformed how our clients engage with compliance: instant answers, always accurate, and built with care.”

AI For Real Estate: Extracting Structured Data at Scale

Our final example is a confidential real estate software project, where we developed a custom automation tool using OpenAI to analyse and extract structured data from hundreds of thousands of public property listings.

The result? A cleaner, enriched database that gives our client a competitive edge, without the need for manual input.

What they had to say:

“Afundi’s technical expertise and smart use of AI have significantly improved our operational efficiency. The automation tool they built helped us scale data quality and accuracy - without increasing costs or headcount. It’s been a game-changer for how we enrich our property data.”

— Confidential Client, Real Estate Sector
